美國西北大學（Northwestern University, IL.）作曲博士。曾於國立臺灣交響樂團所舉辦之作曲比賽與其他比賽中獲獎，作品經常獲選於國際現代音樂協會年會暨世界音樂節（ISCM World Music Days）、亞洲作曲家聯盟年會暨音樂節（ACL Festival and Conference）以及其他音樂節中演出，亦多次獲得國家文藝基金會以及國立中正文化中心委託創作之肯定，演出場合遍及臺灣、香港、美國、加拿大、韓國、日本、以色列、德國、芬蘭、英國與新加玻等地，演出發表活躍。 自高雄中學音樂班畢業後，大學與碩士班皆就讀於國立臺灣師範大學音樂學系，作曲師事M. W. Karlins, Augusta Read Thomas, Alan Stout, Jay A. Yim, 潘皇龍與盧炎等教授。曾與知名演出團體如Pacifica String Quartet、The Eighth Blackbird、NanaFormosa Percussion Duo, 臺北市立交響樂團、朱宗慶打擊樂團、臺北市立國樂團、臺北十方樂集、臺灣管樂團、長榮交響樂團、采風樂坊、新北市交響樂團、小巨人絲竹樂團、時間藝術工作室以及國家交響樂團等演出團體與所屬音樂家頻繁交流並合作發表作品。與各種音樂以及其他藝術人士的工作接觸，也使得她的作品能呈現出各式規模、音色等千變萬化且多元的風貌。 潘家琳目前為臺北市立大學音樂系專任教授，於2019年至2025年間，擔任中華民國現代音樂協會（ISCM-Taiwan Section）理事長一職，並於2024年起擔任國際現代音樂協會總會之執行委員。

Taiwanese composer Chia-lin Pan received her degree of Doctor of Music in Composition from Northwestern University (Illinois, U.S.A.) and earned both her Bachelor and Master degrees from National Taiwan Normal University. She studied composition with Prof. M. W. Karlins, Yen Lu (盧炎), Hwang-long Pan (潘皇龍), Alan Stout, Augusta Read Thomas, and Jay Alan Yim (alphabetical order of last names). Chia-Lin is an active composer and her works have been performed at major festivals, including Asian Composers’ League Music Festivals and the International Society of Contemporary (ISCM) Music World Music Days. She works closely with the members of many contemporary music ensembles such as Pacifica String Quartet, The Eighth Blackbird, NanaFormosa Percussion Duo, Taipei Symphony Orchestra, Ju Percussion Group, Taipei Chinese Orchestra, Taiwan Wind Ensemble, Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, The Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra, Chia Found Music Workshop, New Taipei City Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Music Forum Ensemble, TimeArt Studio and National Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Pan is currently Professor of Music at the University of Taipei. She served as the President of the International Society for Contemporary Music – Taiwan Section from 2019 to 2025. She has been a Board Member of the ISCM Executive Committee since 2024.
